The cleanliness of my house affects my general overall mood. If my house is the least bit cluttered, I’m usually crabbed out beyond belief, and Lord, help my family if hormones are raging about at the time. No doubt my slight case of OCD manipulates certain issues at play here.
The basement, which consists of my office, the garage, and the game room, currently looks like some junkyard creature threw up on it. It’s become the catch all for anything from faux potted plants to retired entertainment centers to the 1000 books I have no book shelves for. I have managed to accomplished the grin and bare it portion of this game simply because I’ve stayed upstairs recently – that; or we have been out of town. It is that crazy time of the year known as summer.
But – school starts in 19 days and I absolutely can not procrastinate in getting this all cleaned out before it begins. I refuse to spend my personal time cleaning! My “me” time. The time I look forward to at the end of every summer.
Sure, I’m in the middle of painting my youngest son’s room, and all his junk is strewn across the main level. Not to mention we are scheduled to be out of town this weekend – oh and the next one as well, with visiting company to boot. Did I mention my husband will have a stroke when I decree the removal of our stash? No worries, I can handle this – ‘cause I’m SuperWoman.

Back into practice
It’s been four months since I have been able to practice and it seems like an eternity. I suffered a wrist injury (a perforated sprain) at the beginning of February that prevented me from doing poses requiring the upper body. I was able to keep active with stretching, but I couldn’t practice to my fullest capability.
I was cleared from therapy last week and had my first full practice yesterday. Man, am I feeling it today. I didn’t realize how 4 months of inactivity on your shoulders could affect your practice! I feel like I’ve been beat all over with a stick. The only thing that isn’t sore at the moment is my toes. So it’s almost like I’m starting all over from scratch.
On a positive note, because I did more stretching than I normally do when holding poses, I was able to do an over-handed pigeon . Glad I have that tiny nugget to hold on to, and looking forward to getting back into full practice!
