It’s been four months since I have been able to practice and it seems like an eternity. I suffered a wrist injury (a perforated sprain) at the beginning of February that prevented me from doing poses requiring the upper body. I was able to keep active with stretching, but I couldn’t practice to my fullest capability.
I was cleared from therapy last week and had my first full practice yesterday. Man, am I feeling it today. I didn’t realize how 4 months of inactivity on your shoulders could affect your practice! I feel like I’ve been beat all over with a stick. The only thing that isn’t sore at the moment is my toes. So it’s almost like I’m starting all over from scratch.
On a positive note, because I did more stretching than I normally do when holding poses, I was able to do an over-handed pigeon . Glad I have that tiny nugget to hold on to, and looking forward to getting back into full practice!
